So far the refs are way to whistle happy and as a fan I hate watching games like this. I like the fact that UW is hitting their outside shots. I hate the fact we are getting zero points in the paint. Baynes is dominating Brockman right now and Jon needs to wake up. MBA looks lost right now. Overton needs to not play anymore, misses layups, wide open 3's, is erractic and just overall terrible. I hope for once we can pull out a close game against these guys. It seems like we are always winning at halftime then they typically barely pull out the win. |

You know who wants it? WE DO! Great 3 point shooting by Justin Dentmon. He had some demeons in this series and he got some revenge today hitting 4 for 4 from 3's. The difference between the last few years wasn't coaching it was the fact the Cougars had older players and better guards. Thomas and Dentmon totally out played the Cougars guard and I never scared in the 2nd half because the Cougars could not hit a 3 pointer. Hey Cougs was the Husky defense good enough for you now? Cougs still have yet to beat a good team. Walking into Pullman and routing them was huge and it was because of 3 things. 1. Rebounding- the rebounding advantage was huge. 2. Three-point shooting, Dentmon going 4 for 4 and Thomas draining some threes. 3. Taking care of the ball, unlike years past where we would turn the ball over down the stretch this year we took care of the ball. Now we'll get to hear Camas and Cougs makes excuses like "You guys are older than us", "you have more talent than us", "The Students were on the west side instead of being at the game". All I hear is excuses. UW is now 10-3, and most importantly 1-0 in Pac-10 play and looking at the Pac-10 schedule the next 4 games is huge, I think at the minimum the Huskies have to go 3-1 because after that 4 game strech you have the 4 game stretch against the LA's and Arizona's. |

Congratulations on a great win over the Cougars. The 1st period a little iffy, but the Huskies played their game and dominated the second period. This Husky team continues to improve, including points by the FT route. No question on which team was the better team today in Pullman. Stanford up next at home so will be a more difficult test for the Huskies. Continue to improve Dawgs and the game is yours for the taking. Go Huskies Go! |

Great quotes by Cougar fans as of just a month ago. Its funny how cocky they were. "Cougs Posted on Tuesday, December 09, 2008 - 08:37 pm: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What you fail to realize is that UW will be sitting right behind us at the bottom of the standings, if not at the very bottom (I have faith in Craig Robinson), lol. " "Cougs Posted on Saturday, December 13, 2008 - 08:52 pm: And my position still hasn't changed: I believe WSU will continue its streak of 7 straight against UW. " "Cougs Posted on Wednesday, December 03, 2008 - 03:34 am: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey Kdog when you play some defense this year then talk. " What do you have to say for those comments now after we put a 20 point beat down on your home court cougs? |

I want to say the X-factors on our season played huge today in Pondexter and Dentmon. Both had great games. We found a way to win today, we couldn't score in the paint because they were boxing us in and daring us to hit shots from the outside and we did just that. Dentmon and Thomas nailing threes, Pondexter and Holliday hit a jumper and Brockman showing his range by hitting mid range jumpers. WSU looks like a bad team and I predict them to take 8th, other than Baynes I wasn't impressed at all by the guard play. For such a "great" coaching staff they sure looked like a Willingham staff in the 2nd half getting blown out. We all know had we lost a certain pessimistic fan would be on here slamming Romar but since we won I'm sure he won't have much to say. I hope Camas and Cougs are gracious losers or just plain leave but I have a feeling those two will continue to be annoying trolls. |

This Husky defense can match any team in the PAC-10, but it will take a complete game for the full 40 minutes to take home the bacon. I believe this TEAM is on the verge of rising to the next level of smart play. |

Excellent win. Nice to see a Husky team make adjustments and come-out firing in the second half. There seemed to be a nice mix of urgency and composure in the second half, which will be needed against some of the better conference teams. Suffice to say we don't lack the athletic skill sets, we just have to keep our heads screwed-on straight and play, play and play. Go Dawgs! |

With the Exception of the Kansas game and that was just the 4th game of the year and first game back for MBA we have played pretty good. The Portland game was bad too but we still could have won that game. The addition of Thomas has helped us alot, having a more mature Dentmon has helped, hopefully the Pondexter we saw today continues to play that way. I like our role players in Gant, MBA, Holliday. Overton needs to stop being so erractic and work on his shooting. The Huskies very easily could be 5-0 to start off Pac-10 play. I think its very important to sweep the Bay Area at home and sweep the Oregon's on the road since we'll be going down to Arizona's and have the LA's at home so that 4 game stretch is a 2-2 at best. |

I'm reading that 11 pac-10 wins is the magic number to get in, 10 is pushing it. We just got a huge road win so that sets us up nicely. Lets say we go 7-2 at home( I honestly don't know which 2 we'll lose to but i'm sure we'll lose at least 2) that means we must win 3-4 road games. I'd say realistictly our best chance is WSU(which we already did), Oregon State, Oregon and Cal. The other 5 teams it would take an effort like today only more from our bigs to win. Also playing in the Bay Area and Arizona I've noticed you will not get a call or at least we never do. The guard play is better and the free throw shooting and 3 point shooting is getting alot better, we are cutting down on our turnovers and since the Florida game we are playing lights out defense. |

I'm pretty sad Cougs never came back on here to own up to his stupid posts. He talked so much when WSU kept beating up on bad teams but they still have yet to beat a good team and probably will end the year with a losing record. UW is now 11-3(2-0) and have won 9 in a row, return 7 guys next year and have a 12th rated class coming in. Get used to getting your asses handed to by UW. |

Kdog, Where can you find info on Romar's upcoming/incoming class? No doubt he is recruiting the players to compete at a very high level for years to come. As long as they hit FT'saround a 70% clip I'm happy. |

I went to scout.com and saw we are ranked 12th in the nation and only UW and UCLA cracked the top 25. That ranking might dip a tad with the news of JC center Garcia getting booted off his current team for grades. Kentwood standout center(#4 ranked kid in the class of 2010) was at the stanford game today sitting behind the UW bench so it was nice to see UW put on a good win in a very nice environment in front of Smith. |

Thanks Kdog I now have it bookmarked. My daughter is a Freshy at KW so well aware of Josh Smith. KW also has a Freshy named Taylor Jones is 6'4" and is playing JV now as a forward. He could also be one to watch. |

I like the class that we are bringing in. Gaddy is a complete stud and despite idiot cougs not doing a little research claiming he will go one and done becuase of Gaddy's age he has to be here for 2 years which is nice. He should be a lotto pick. Trent will be a starter or key bench guy next year at 6'7" 230 lbs already. He could be a combo of Pondexter/Bobby Jones. Wilcox can shoot it from anywhere I've read and we desperatly need some outside shooting so with Wilcox and a soph Turner we should be better at that next year. Then Garcia it sounds like will in fact be coming here, he is a junior at 6'9" so that should help replace Brockman a bit. We should be fine next year. In 2 years you have a lineup of Gaddy, Thomas, Trent, Smith and MBA with Overton, Turner,Garcia, and few others off the bench. In 2 years UW could be super stacked. |
